Scenario 7
Greenhouse gasses (gasses caused by burning fossil fuels) are causing a rise in atmospheric temperature worldwide. As a result of this rise in temperature, ice caps at the poles are melting, causing sea levels to rise and floods along coastal regions. Weather patterns have become unpredictable; powerful hurricanes and tornadoes are occurring worldwide and season changes are becoming sporadic. All four nations agree that greenhouse gasses are the cause, but all four nations rely on fossil fuels for power, transportation, income and synthetic materials such as clothing and plastic. The technology to provide alternate, bio-friendly fuel will be costly and even after it is developed, it will be difficult to disperse it to the masses and get them to switch vehicles.
