A highly infectious virus has been discovered in the red nation. So far, 14 people have died from the virus (all less than 72 hours after discovering symptoms). Three cases have shown up in tourist destinations on the beaches of the yellow nation as well. These are assumed to have been spread by contact with visitors from the red nation to those areas.
The disease starts much like influenza, where patients experience fever, runny nose, headaches, etc., but it eventually leads to chest pains and ultimately, heart failure. The virus appears to be spread through physical contact (not airborne) with an infected person. There is no telling how far this virus has spread or where it will show up next.
What can be done to avoid a pandemic?
